Siempre Flamenco along with Ballet
Flamenco la Rosa and Clarita Filgueira Flamenco Puro
present Suma Flamenco, an evening-length Gala featuring all
three companies and international guest artists.
Friday, January 13th
Siempre Flamenco presents Furia de Color Flamenco.
Furia de Color Flamenco explores and celebrates
the relation of Flamenco to the poets and folkloric
traditions of the Andalusian people. This lively,
energetic and colorful show unveils connections between
Flamenco and the popular folkloric songs that animate
Andalusian life. Lyrics written by poets Federico Garcia
Lorca, Antonio Machado and Rafael Alberti are set to
original music by Paco Fonta and original choreography
by Celia Fonta. Celia and Paco will be joined by dancers
Nuria Cid, Paola Escobar and Natalia Novela, guest
guitarist Jose Cortes (Pansequito), and renowned
Flamenco singer Manuel Palacin. The power of traditional
Flamenco, together with the soulful expression of
Spanish folklore, promises an unforgettable evening
reaffirming the relevance of artistic tradition in the
modern world.
January, 12 & 14
Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, presents Directo al
Corazon, an original flamenco ballet inspired by
Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen's Hedda
Gabler with special guest artist, flamenco
sensation "La Truco" and an international cast of
musicians and dancers from Spain.
January, 15th
Flamenco Puro, presents Mi Calle Flamenca,
a portrait of the passion, intensity, and desire of
flamenco dancers in old Sevilla with renowned gypsy
guitarist Jose Valle (Chuscales) and other guest artists
from Spain.
